According to an announcement made by the Executive Committee of the project, which has been organized by KADİP and Coşkun Educational Institutions, an exhibition and finale program will be held in Istanbul for projects selected for awards. The project competition is planned to be held every year and to be made traditional.

The Executive Committee announced that the general aim of the National Reconciliation Olympiads Project is:  “To encourage, support, present in a competitive framework, reward results and share results with the public local, regional or national projects related to resolving social problems deriving from differences like differences of religion, sect, ethnicity, culture, life philosophy, life style and customs and that are conducive to the development and support of social harmony.”

According to the announcement made, the project’s priority is to develop the consciousness and potential for action of social harmony in the youthful base of society and to create a culture of living together harmoniously by experimental means.

The ultimate goal to be reached with this project was expressed as follows: “For high school age youths who live in Turkey’s rich ethnical geography and who are coming from different religions or sects, different ethnical bases, different cultures, different life philosophies and different life styles to acquire by experimental means the philosophy of living together harmoniously.”

Information regarding how the project will be implemented and what procedures should be followed for projects to be entered in the competition and how projects will be chosen is as follows: “The project will be implemented with the support of related public institutions by making a comprehensive call for projects and by  publicizing the project  to all educational institutions that provide high school level education. Direction will be provided at the stage of implementation of forthcoming project agendas, and reporting on the implementation of the project in a standard and comparative way will be facilitated. The projects reported will be compared in view of previously determined, concrete evaluation criteria and the competition results and the whole process will be made known to public masses by means of national (and international) media channels.

It is aimed for the project to be reported in detail at a future date. The coordination address was shown as the KADİP project management office in the Journalists and Writers Foundation building in Altunizade /Istanbul. In order to manage the project better, the next step to be taken is the formation of a project coordination center within the Ministry of National Education in Ankara.

The institutional level of project competition participants was limited to “high school level educational institutions” and the geographical area was limited to the “Turkish Republic.”

In order for projects during the implementation stage to be managed in accordance with the project aims, they will be directed by a Committee of Consultants composed of experts from such areas as educational sciences, psychology, sociology and theology. A separate Committee will supervise the projects  and a delegation formed mutually by Coşkun Educational Institutions and KADİP will implement them. 11.12.2009
